Thanks for visiting JeffreyBikes.com

As a youngster I spent a lot of time riding my spyder bike with my brother and close friends on trails we built in the woods behind our home in the southside area of Winston-Salem. As I got older and decided to venture out on the pavement my love for my bicycle, and bicycling, continued to grow.

Over my lifetime of 51 years I am amazed at the events, adventures and memories that I've had the joy of being a part. And, these continue to grow.

And, more importantly, to be able to share these adventures through the years with my friends, and now and especially, my dear wife and ride partner, Jill. This only adds to the excitement and rewards.

On JeffreyBikes.com you'll find a continually growing amount of information and links to lots of bicycling odds and ends. Some things here are just for fun and enjoyment and some are a bit more serious in nature.

You will get some insight on my bicycling "history" and my bicycles.

You'll also learn a little bit about Jill and myself and our bicycling lifestyle.

On a more personal level, you will see what my upcoming ride plans are. And, I will also give you some insight to ways I am using as a means to stay at a desirable fitness level.

You will find various bicycling resources and information that I find beneficial to myself and you might find them useful as well.

You can keep up with me in a more up to date way when you visit my personal blog, The Bike Basement.

Plus, I am finally starting to get some pictures loaded.

Lastly, you'll find contact information if you have a desire to drop me an email. Who knows- maybe we can hook up for a ride sometime.

With all that said, feel free to browse around and thanks again for the visit!

Happenings

Spring has sprung! Finally, we can shed the winter clothes. Jill and I have a lot going on now that we can get out a bit.

On Saturdays and/or Sundays Jill and I try to do some sort of bicycle ride. It may be either a road, mountain or cross bike ride but we generally lean towards our road bikes on the weekends. I especially like to get in a lot of miles on Saturdays for several reasons- fitness, stress relief, fun and, most importantly, spending time with Jill.

I love fitness walking too. I usually get in a couple of fitness walks each week. Fitness walking is a great workout and it is amazing how much you can boost your fitness by walking.

A couple of mornings a week I am always on my spin bike. Jill and I have enjoyed our indoor cycling sessions for years. Though it is cycling based the rewards for these hard workouts can be felt in many areas- endurance, strength fitness, weight loss and stress relief.

Something I really enjoy doing is my weekly Thursday evening ride at Salem Greenway and Salem Lake. This is an lower intensity, fitness paced ride to burn some calories. I have been doing this for years and it is a great way to toss in a bicycle ride during your work week. Plus, you can easily drop a few pounds.
